Welcome to the Mato Dimension, where women hold all the power, men are reduced to helpers, and demons called Shuuki lurk in every shadow.
Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) is often dismissed as just an "ecchi battle harem," but beneath the fan service lies a surprisingly complex power system and a world driven by a dark matriarchy.
With Season 2 moving to Studio Passione, the series is about to evolve. This is your ultimate guide to understanding the world of Chained Soldier.

The Mato Dimension & Peaches
Decades ago, mysterious gates opened across Japan, leading to the Mato Dimension.
This alternate world is home to the Peaches—mystical fruits that grant supernatural abilities. But there's a catch: Peaches only work on women.
This biological reality shifted the global balance of power. The formidable Anti-Demon Corps (all female) was formed to protect humanity, while men were relegated to support roles or civilian life.

The Reward System: "Slave" Contract
The protagonist, Yuuki Wakura, breaks this rule—sort of. He doesn't get power from a Peach, but from Kyouka Uzen's unique ability: Slave.
By kissing Yuuki, Kyouka can transform him into a powerful demon beast. He becomes her "Slave," gaining immense strength to fight the Shuuki. However, this power comes with a price that must be paid immediately after the battle.
This is the Reward System.
Depending on how much power Yuuki uses, Kyouka is magically compelled to "reward" him. This isn't a choice; it's a binding contract. The "rewards" range from simple acts of service to... much more intense interactions. It is the core "culture" hook of the series, but it also serves as a genuine tactical constraint—they cannot fight forever without paying the toll.

Studio Wars: Seven Arcs vs Passione
Season 1, animated by Seven Arcs, was praised for its faithfulness but criticized for its safe, sometimes stiff animation.
Season 2 changes everything.
The production has shifted to Studio Passione (Interspecies Reviewers, Mieruko-chan). Passione is legendary for two things:
- Incredible "Assets" Physics: They are untethered by shame.
- Surprisingly Good Horror/Action: They know how to animate darker, grittier scenes.
This shift suggests that Season 2 will lean harder into the "Mato" horror elements while simultaneously upgrading the visuals for the "Reward" scenes. It is the best possible outcome for fans.
