Fire Force Season 3 New Opening Drops HUGE Soul Eater Clues: Is The Connection Finally Real?
With T.M.Revolution returning for the new OP, Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 is practically screaming its Soul Eater connection. Here is the breakdown.

The mask is off. David Production isn't even trying to hide it anymore.
With the release of Fire Force: San no Shou (Season 3) Part 2 on January 9, 2026, the anime has dropped its biggest "hint" yet. And by hint, I mean they essentially screamed it in our faces.
The new Opening Theme, "Ignis", is performed by Takanori Nishikawa (T.M.Revolution).
Does that name ring a bell? It should. He sang "Resonance", the legendary opening for Soul Eater.

The "Ohkuboverse" Unfolds
Hardcore fans of Atsushi Ohkubo have known this for years: Fire Force is arguably a prequel to Soul Eater.
The manga ending made it explicitly clear (we won't spoil the exact page, but that moon looks very familiar). But anime-only watchers have been in the dark—until now. bringing back the voice that defined Soul Eater to sing the final anthem of Fire Force is a masterstroke.
It connects the two series sonically before the visuals even catch up.

Look at the Moon
In the new PV, pay attention to the sky during the Great Cataclysm scenes.
The moon isn't just a celestial body anymore. It's starting to... grin. The art style shift we are seeing in Part 2, with more jagged lines and "madness" infused into the flames, is slowly morphing into the gothic Halloween aesthetic of Death City.
Get Ready for Resonance
If you skipped Soul Eater, you have about 12 episodes to catch up.
This isn't just an easter egg. This is world-building 15 years in the making. When Shinra Kusakabe's journey ends, the age of Meisters and Weapons begins. And Takanori Nishikawa is here to sing us into the madness.
!TIP Watch Soul Eater (the anime, or read the manga for the canon ending) on Crunchyroll to see what Shinra's world eventually becomes.
