Boruto: Naruto Next Generations? More Like No Generations

A honest review on why this anime destroyed Naruto's legacy. Low rating, high emotion. Do not watch.

Boruto Trash Review Hero

Listen. I don't care if you're a "new generation" fan. I don't care if you think "it gets better after episode 200".

It doesn't.

This anime is a crime against humanity. It took one of the greatest shonen legacies of all time, chewed it up, and spit it out into a dumpster fire fueled by nostalgia bait and terrible writing.

Pros: Usually the Openings are kind of a bop. That's it.

Cons: Naruto is nerfed, Sasuke is a stepping stone, the animation is inconsistent, and Boruto is an ungrateful brat.

The Plot Has More Holes Than A Donut

Remember when ninjas used strategy? Remember when chakra meant something? Forget all that. Now we have Scientific Ninja Tools that make training irrelevant and Aliens (Otsutsuki) who spam energy beams like it's Dragon Ball Z but worse.

The story doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a slice of life? Is it a war drama? No, it's a disjointed mess of "anime canon" (read: filler) that stretches for hundreds of episodes with zero consequence. You could skip 80% of this show and miss absolutely nothing.

They Massacre Our Boys

Naruto Uzumaki. The child of prophecy. The man who united the ninja world. In this show? He's a tired office worker who can't dodge a rod.

Sasuke Uchiha. The shadow hokage. The man with the eyes of god. Here? He's constantly "out of chakra" and gets kicked around to make the new kids look strong.

It's disrespectful. It's insulting. Watching them get nerfed just so Boruto can shine with his unearned "Karma" marks makes me want to punch my monitor.

Visuals That Make Your GPU Cry (In Pain)

Studio Pierrot, what happened? One week we get god-tier animation (Episode 65), and then for the next 50 weeks, we get artwork that looks like it was drawn in MS Paint by a tired intern. The consistency is non-existent.

Just Don't.

If you love Naruto, do not watch this. Pretend chapter 700 was the end. Live in that happiness. Watching Boruto is like watching your childhood hero get beat up in a nursing home. It's just sad.

Skip it. Watch Jujutsu Kaisen. Watch Demon Slayer. Watch paint dry. Anything is better than this.
