Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None: How a Boring MC Ruined a Decent Premise

Orhun Dula might be a 'Jack-of-All-Trades,' but he is a master of none—especially having a personality. This has to be the most skippable show of Winter 2026.

Sometimes, an anime fails because the animation is bad. Sometimes, it fails because the plot is nonsense.

And sometimes, it fails because the main character is a black hole where charisma goes to die.

Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None (Yuusha Party wo Oidasareta Kiyoubinbou) falls squarely into that last category. In a season packed with heavy hitters like Fate/strange Fake and Solo Leveling, this show disrespects your time by asking you to care about Orhun Dula.

Protaginise Sans Personality

Look at him. Just look at him.

Orhun Dula standing passively while chaos happens around him, looking completely bored

Orhun Dula is designed like a "Low Budget Kirito" who forgot to drink his morning coffee. While the premise—a support mage kicked out of a hero's party—is a staple of the "Banished" genre, usually the MC has some grit, rage, or hidden chaotic energy (see: Rise of the Shield Hero).

Orhun has none of that. He is passive, mopey, and acts like a bystander in his own life.

"He feels like a self-insert aimed at people with low self-esteem. Why is he even the MC?"

This quote from a forum thread perfectly encapsulates the problem. When he gets kicked out, he doesn't get angry; he just accepts it with a sigh. When he shows off his "OP skills," he does it with the enthusiasm of a cashier scanning groceries.

The "Party of None" Problem

The title implies he goes solo, but of course, he immediately picks up a harem of waifus who do the emotional heavy lifting for him. They scream, they cry, they fight—and Orhun just stands there, occasionally muttering a "sugoi" strategy that a five-year-old could have figured out.

It’s frustrating because the world-building isn't terrible. The magic system has potential. But every scene focuses on Orhun, and every second he’s on screen drains the energy from the room.

Skip it. If you want a "Banished" story, go rewatch an old classic. Don't waste your bandwidth on Orhun Dula.

Final Rating: 4.0/10 (A void of personality)
